Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act

WIOA is landmark legislation that is designed to strengthen and improve our nation's public workforce system and help get Americans, including youth and those with significant barriers to employment, into high-quality jobs and careers and help employers hire and retain skilled workers.

MEO SENIOR COMMUNITY SERVICES EMPLOYMENT 
PROGRAM 

(Federal Funding - SCSEP)

  • 55+ years old

  • Unemployed

  • Maui resident

  • Gross income does not exceed 125% of poverty levels

  • Promotes part-time employment opportunities for low-income senior citizens

  • Assists older workers in transitioning to un-subsidized employment

MEO COMMUNITY SERVICES BLOCK GRANT

(Federal Funding – CSBG)

  • Serves low-income families, homeless individuals or individuals at risk of being homeless, individuals in a dangerous situation, and/or individuals moving from emergency to transitional housing

  • Reduces poverty, revitalizes low-income communities, and empowers low-income families & individuals to become self-sufficient through support funding and services

 MEO NATIONAL
 FARM WORKERS JOB
PROGRAM

(Federal Funding – NFJP)

  • Individuals that have worked on a farm or ranch for 25 days or have earned at least $800 within the last two years through farming

  • Provides job training, increased educational opportunities, support services, employment assistance for farmworkers and their families

  • There is no cost to participants
